[It was an off day or something. Because everything Zeke was cooking was turning out terribly. The custard wasn't coming together just right. The meat was dry. He nearly burnt the milk and ruined the rice.

Granted, none of it's totally ruined, but IT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH GDIT and he's feeling pretty disappointed in himself.]

Think I'm losin' my edge.

[This is the worst thing in the world, everyone.]

I've got some food here that could use eating if you're feeling hungry. It's not great but I don't wanna waste it.

Normally he doesn't cook this much but he got frustrated. So now he's sulking in the kitchen trying to save his damn custard pies and pudding.]

[When Zachariah enters the kitchen he makes a beeline right for the food. He could smell it from outside and it smells fantastic. He wastes no time getting a plate full of food and digging in.]

[Christine's wanderings have led her to the library and its surrounding buildings, so it was only a matter of time until she located the kitchen, even if by accident.

She pauses in the doorway, eyes falling on the food that is sitting out and waiting. She hadn't even realized how hungry she was until she'd set her eyes upon the pies. She darts her eyes about furtively before stepping cautiously toward the food Zeke prepared.]

[Zeke wasn't expecting someone to SUDDENLY BE THERE when he turned around. But suddenly there was Christine, and he ended up dropping his pot of... some kind of brown liquid. All over the floor.]

[Ffff don't mind him he'll just clean this up.]

[Christine lets out a small scream as Zeke starts at her sudden appearance and, in turn, startles her with his own. She stumbles back a few steps, ready to flee, but still... mess. :(

She watches silently for only a beat as the man sets to cleaning up the spill, moving to claim a rag from the counter a moment later. She tucks up the ends of her dress into her belted midsection, a not particularly ladylike gesture but effective in keeping the cloth free from the spill, and moves over to him.]

No, I am sorry... I did not mean to startle you. Here, let me help.

[And protest or not, the young woman is down on her knees next to him the next moment, helping sponge up the mess.]

He smiles a bit when she offers to help, but it's not really all that evident.]

[Now that was surprising to hear this usually chipper chef down in the dumps. It didn't take Sandrath to go out of his way to investigate (besides, its not like he had anything else to do) and it didn't take him long to find the man, travelling along the shadows of the Keep.]
