[It was an off day or something. Because everything Zeke was cooking was turning out terribly. The custard wasn't coming together just right. The meat was dry. He nearly burnt the milk and ruined the rice.
Granted, none of it's totally ruined, but IT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH GDIT and he's feeling pretty disappointed in himself.]
Think I'm losin' my edge.
[This is the worst thing in the world, everyone.]
I've got some food here that could use eating if you're feeling hungry. It's not great but I don't wanna waste it.
[If you, you know, want less than perfect food.
Normally he doesn't cook this much but he got frustrated. So now he's sulking in the kitchen trying to save his damn custard pies and pudding.]

[Christine smiles again, though, pleased that he's said thank you for the effort. Her rag joins his and she dusts her hands over her petticoats without much of a thought.
Then her smile falters a bit and she blinks a few times before looking over his shoulder at the various items crowding the counter. Her eyes widen just a little before darting back to Zeke. His tattooed face doesn't alarm her much, what with having Erik around, and she does brilliantly at holding his gaze.]
Whatever for?
[No, really, Zeke... it all looks just fine.]

It's no good. Coulda done better. Normally wouldn't shove bad food on people but I didn't want to waste it all.
[The custard is kind of lumpy and the rice is in clumps and the crust is crumbly and the pudding won't set right it's a MEDIOCRE JOB OKAY GOSH ;A;]

Chrissie looks from Zeke to the food before rising from the floor and making her way over. Her dress is still tucked up, so it's all petticoats and stocking covered legs (OH MY). Young, but certainly with legs that keep on going and I hope you're not looking at 'em, Zeke. ;)
She looks over the food before looking back at Zeke with an air of curiosity.]
I don't see anything wrong with it, though... I am certain it tastes fine?

I mean, yeah, it all prolly still tastes alright. But it's still not good.

At his response, her lips curl and she smiles at him.]
I'm certain it is still good, monsieur.
[To prove her point, she breaks off some of the pie crust and pops it into her mouth. She chews and swallows, amusement all over her features.]
You see? I am perfectly well and your cooking is nothing short of delightful.

Well, it could be better, that's all.

Christine smiles as he sighs and finally relents, nose crinkling slightly.]
This is perhaps the truth, but that means only that you will hae to try again, monsieur, yes?

[Besides cooking is the only thing he ever does ever.]

You are a cook, monsieur?

Bonjour, Zeke. It is a pleasure to meet you, I am Christine.
[She offers a curtsy in greeting.]
I do not believe I have ever had the pleasure of meeting a real chef before. You have been cooking a long time?
