[He holds out the covered plate, assuming the food would seem muc less threatening than he is.]

[Raven is still a little suspicious, but she opens her door a little wider, and offers a smile.]

Hi, Zeke. I'm Raven.

[He does seem nice, so she steps back, trying not to to look so...well. Suspicious.]

[Zeke smiles and nods.]

Sure is. Lucky I found it. This place seems promising.

...Thanks. [She takes it, then heads inside to set it on her table.]

Yeah. Th'shore didn't have decent kitchen. And th'one here isn't as fancy as th'one on the ship, but it'll do. Might just need ta change some of my methods.

The shore. You keep saying that. I thought you were on a boat.

[Hi, picking at her fruit.]

The shore? It was our destination. Entire reason we were on a ship t'begin with. Captain Redd, the big guy pullin' all the strings, was bringing all of us there as a sort of refuge. Safe haven or somethin' like that since our homes were gone.

Now, I dunno if he was intending on fixing it afterward like the lord guy of this keep place is, but I was pretty sure we got rid of that world-destroying thing. But by th'sounds of it, there's more than one.

[She chews on a piece of fruit.]

Great. Sounds like a real blast. [About as much fun as going to war with the Russian's was going to be.]

[He pauses.]

[She pauses herself and watches him carefully, swallowing before she holds out the plate.]

[He doesn't want to think about that, so he takes a bite of smiley fruit instead.]

You mean bring it down more than it already is? [She lifts a brow and smirks a little, chomping down on another piece.] I mean, being told your whole world is gone is...pretty depressing.
